Gardening Can Be Fun And Soothing

Paul's Version of Planting

As far back as I can remember I’ve loved gardening. When I was a small child I would spend countless hours in the dirt with my grandmother planting everything from cucumbers to corn. All summer I would spend the days of summer at my grandparent’s farm. I was really given two choices, work in the garden or study my spelling. It was simple in my mind because I loved being outside in the garden and didn’t like school at all.

So that leads me to where I am today, still spending all summer in the garden, just now it is my backyard instead of the farm. This year I decided that I’d mix up the vegetables I planted. I began with tomatoes, then moved onto beans and brocoli. It was simple to do. I had to water them almost every day since this summer was so dry. I also had to get my husband to cut down a tree that was cutting off the sunshine. Really it was a lot of work for a small amount of veggies.

Weeding is my least favorite part of gardening. This year I didn’t have as many problems because I chose to go out and buy garden shovels. Having to move around on my knees all summer was not fun at all. Next year now that I think of it I might hire someone to come in every once in while and do it for me. All I need to do now is get my husband to pay for it.

The right tools for the job make all the difference, and that’s why I don’t know why more people don’t gardening tools for sale. If I had it my way the house would be filled with evey little tool that anyone has ever thought up. I love gardening and having the right tools makes it so much more enjoyable. If next summer you are thinking to take a roll in the dirtt, go at it with the right tools!
